I am inspired to create abstract mixed media and oil paintings with texture. I want my paintings to evoke a response; be it kinetic, emotional, or purely visual. The mysterious and meditative aspects of the Sublime Expressions Collection is one of my favorites. The response by many viewers has been described as being able to "lose themselves in the softness and blurred edges within the many layers of swimming colors." Such a response then evokes a feeling of the haziness of a treasured memory, and makes the viewer feel like they are taking a trip to another place and time.
I invite viewers to feel the joy and energy infused in my art and be relaxed by its fresh and contemporary style. I hope they experience it as an uplifting diversion from the ongoing stresses in our current world and day-to-day lives. As I create a painting, I often lose myself in the creative process which becomes a meditation. While some paintings have emerged rather quickly in a short amount of time, more often, when I stay in the creative and meditative flow for the painting emerges more slowly.
